OIC/DC provides FREE occupational skills training and job placement for the District of Columbia residents who are between the ages of 18-21.

OIC/DC's certified instructors will prepare out-of school youth for the job market, provide proficiency training in Microsoft Word and Excel, and provide basic education and proficiency in standard office practices. Upon successful completion of the training, participants will be qualified for placement in jobs with upward mobility, i.e., Administrative Assistant, Information Clerk, Office Manager, Receptionist, Secretary, etc.

Program Design Curriculum
The core design of this OIC program -- which is called Out-of-School Youth Skills Enhancement Program Opportunities -- is to provide valuable skill training in two growth occupational areas that need workers who can successfully and productively work in the electronic workplace. Hours are from 10:00a.m. sharp to 2:00p.m., Monday thru Friday. The training time frame is approximately 20 weeks, inclusive of classroom and on-the -job (practicum) training. Participants receive an hourly stipend for classroom and on-the-job training. For additional information, please contact Sheena Nicholson at (202) 373-0330.
