OIC/DC is proud to announce the launch of its newest program DCWorks, a comprehensive approach to addressing the short and long term employment needs of DC’s Ward 8 residents.
OIC DCWorks will help to service more than 200 adults, living in Ward 8 who are at least 18 years old with multiple barriers to employment. This paid job training program includes; job readiness training, life skills training, customer service skills computer literacy, conflict resolution, on-the-job training, and job placement assistance.
OIC DCWorks training will be conducted for 4 to 5 hours per day, five days a week. During this time, participants will receive a stipend based on time and attendance. At the conclusion of this hands-on 12 week training program, participants will then be placed in paid on-the-job training with area employers.
After completing their on-the-job training, OIC/DC will help to place participants into a full time unsubsidized employment.
OIC DCWorks will be housed at two locations:
3016 Martin Luther King Avenue SE & 4301 9th Street, SE Washington, DC.
