Through the diligent work of OIC/DC staff and its partners, the Fatherhood Program can help to provide tangible evidence for the community that by joining and working together, we can take positive steps to help fathers, families and neighborhoods become stronger, more stable and more economically independent.

Weekly sessions are from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. The certification class times and training vary depending on the program selected.

OIC/DC’s Fatherhood Initiative Program provides an integrated and holistic program for fathers ages 18 and above. The program includes outreach, recruitment, orientation, educational assistance, health and wellness support, return offender assistance, pre-employment training and development, parenting and life skills management, resume writing, computer and academic literacy training, occupational skills training, pre-apprenticeship training, referral services, counseling and follow-up.

OIC/DC also focuses on assisting participants in gaining valuable credentials in three areas; Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification, A+ Computer Maintenance and Repair Certification and National Customer Service Certification. Some of our programs provide an hourly stipend for qualified participants. Upon successful completion of the training, participants will be qualified for placement in jobs with upward mobility.
