Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Office Practice Training Goals and Objectives of Course:
The goal of the program is to enable the customer to obtain the skills needed to secure employment as a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS Specialist). This training directly qualifies graduates for jobs as:
   •General Office Clerks
   •Secretaries
   •Receptionist
   •Information Clerks
   •Office Managers
   •Program Support Technicians
   •Administrative Assistants

The Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) /Office Practice Training is designed with the following learning objectives:
   •Proficiency in MS Word;
   •Proficiency in MS Excel;
   •Basic skills in MS Access;
   •Proficiency skills in MS PowerPoint; and Knowledge of and proficiency in standard office practices.

In order for the trainees to obtain the core competencies needed for job success the training time will span 33 weeks. OIC-DC is designed to operate in the evening hours (from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.) every weekday. This feature of the OIC-CDD program enables the trainee to work while in training so that they can support themselves and gain valuable work experience while they acquire enhanced career skills. While not guaranteed, program staff will make every effort to secure private sector work experience opportunities and "stop-gap jobs "for the customers that will complement their skills training.
