The
once a week Saturday "leadership" seminars are
specifically planned with the input of the Youth Leadership Council
formed by the participants of Project Y.COM. "Leadership"
seminars are held for 14 Saturdays from 10am to 11am. "Leadership"
seminars are mandatory for all youth who participated in the summer
phase of Project Y.COM. The types of "leadership" seminars
that will be offered include: Is College For Me?, I Can
Own My Business, Why I Like My Job, SCANS Skills,
How to Use the Internet to Get a Job, What an Employer
wants From an Employee, Role Play: My First Job Interview,
Good Careers in DC, What They Pay and What It Takes To
Get Them; Working For The Government, SCANS Skills
II, Planning for the Future, Working for My Community,
A Community Day, and What Our Elected Officials Do.
